# Research study on racialized 2SGBTQ men's suicidality seeks participants.
Racialized 2SGBTQ men continue to be under-represented in men's mental health & suicide research, despite being disproportionately impacted by different forms of stigma and discrimination due to their racial, sexual and gender identities. That said, as a racialized queer researcher myself, I want to use this privilege and opportunity to center and elevate the voices of our community, and ensure that your voices are included in building targeted culturally-responsive and gender transformative suicide prevention interventions in the long run.
Connecting multiple minority stress, masculinities and suicidality among Canadian-based racialized Two-Spirit, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer (2SGBTQ) men
The goal of this photovoice research project is to understand how masculinities and multiple minority stress are interconnected to influence suicidality among racialized 2SGBTQ men in Canada, and to amplify their voices in strategizing and generating new recommendations for suicide prevention programs that are tailored to the unique needs and well-being of Canadian-based racialized 2SGBTQ men.
Eligible participants will be expected to i) submit digital photographs and ii) undergo individual Zoom interviews that will last approximately 1 hour. They will also be compensated for their time ($100) which will be provided in the form of an e-gift card for any Canadian store of their choice.
