#Social Prescribing for Youth Wellness Hub: Project Launch

Access Alliance is excited to host a Human Connection Event during Ontario’s Community Health and Wellness Week on Oct 20 (11:30 am – 1:30) at AccessPoint on Danforth. This event serves a dual purpose:

1.    Launch of our Social Prescribing for Youth Wellness Hub Initiative: This new initiative revolves around non-medical interventions aimed at addressing the social determinants of youth wellness and mental health in the most vulnerable newcomer communities. 2.    Showcasing Multisectoral Partnerships: We will highlight the collaborative efforts of our partners in making social prescribing accessible to City’s most equity deserving youth populations. We'll emphasize the importance of local partnerships, including community organizations, private foundations and corporations, that enable us to provide integrated services to priority populations.

Our event embodies a commitment to combating isolation and fostering human connections on two levels. On an individual level, the initiative seeks to assist at-risk newcomer youth in breaking social isolation, offering them a safe space, meaningful connections and wraparound services. On an organizational level, partnership-based initiatives like this one effectively mobilize resources from different sectors, break down silos, and foster cohesive collaborations to make real impact.

No individual should struggle with mental health challenges in isolation, and no organization should work in isolation when addressing these salient societal problems. We welcome community partners who have an interest in promoting newcomer youth wellness to join this event to exchange information, bounce ideas, and most importantly, form connections!

RSVP>>  Address: 3070 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON Time of event: 11:30-2 Inivted:  Community partners who have an interest in promoting newcomer youth wellness

Type of Social Rx:  Social Support and Networking Prescription, the event will showcase a variety of prescriptions that we prepare for our youth clients.
