Indigenous Youth Health Promotion & Advocacy During COVID-19

This project started in Spring 2021 and was conducted in partnership with the National Reconciliation Program (NRP) at Save the Children. The aim of the project was to engage Indigenous youth aged 15-24 in creating a grass roots social media campaign. Indigenous youth promoted positive messages about the COVID-19 vaccines through digital storytelling. 25 youths, including members of the IPHCC's Knowledge Circle and the NRP participated in the planning committee and were engaged in all aspects of the project.

COVID-19 & Vaccination Fact Sheets

The Indigenous Primary Health Care Council (IPHCC) has developed a series of accessible, culturally aware fact sheets with info on youth vaccinations, Indigenous prioritization for vaccinations, post-vaccination COVID cases, and COVID-19 variants of concern. These resources honour traditional knowledge systems and provide necessary evidence to help support Indigenous populations in making important health choices.

Guiding Document - Engaging Indigenous Communities with COVID Vaccine Implementation

This procedural document aims to help providers engage Indigenous clients, communities, and agencies in COVID-19 vaccine implementation. It is imperative that local Indigenous communities/agencies are involved at the onset of putting together COVID-19 vaccination procedures to ensure they are meaningfully engaged in the planning process.
